EUGENE, Ore. – TrackTown USA President Vin Lananna is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Fasulo to a new leadership position within the organization — Chief Strategy Officer and Special Adviser to the President. Fasulo was the lead consultant for TrackTown USA’s highly innovative campaign for the 2021 IAAF World Championships and was instrumental in helping Lananna secure the right to host the event.

EUGENE, Ore. – TrackTown USA President Vin Lananna has been named head coach of the U.S. men’s track and field team for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, it was announced today by USA Track & Field.
One of the world’s foremost visionaries in the sport of track and field, Lananna’s appointment by the U.S. Olympic Committee comes at the pinnacle of a long and storied career that has seen unprecedented success as a coach, administrator, organizer and leader.

Three others are hoping to join the travel party.
As reigning 2013 World Champions, Team USA’s Ashton Eaton (decathlon) and Ethiopia’s Mohammed Aman (800m) were guaranteed wild-card berths into the meet.
Canada’s Brianne Theisen-Eaton, meanwhile, only needed to show fitness at the Canadian National Championships to secure her spot in the heptathlon. She did that by winning the 100m hurdles and taking second in the long jump.
